Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels

Tuesday, July 6, 2010 0 comments

After a real long gap, I finally watched a movie full of entertainment. There were a lot of talks regarding this movie among my circle which made me more curious to see it. The movie is directed by Guy Richhie and is based in England. It is basically a comedy drama in which four close and intimate friends named Eddie, Tom, Bacon and Soap get into big time trouble when they were forced into debt.

The four of them individually accumulate twenty five thousand cash each summing to one hundred thousand which they invest upon card game. Edie who happens to be a card magician is trusted to book a table in a local illegally run casino. The boss ‘Hatchet Harry’ tricks Edie on the table and thus entitles him to a loans of half a million pound. The side-kick of Hatchet Harry grants six days time to clear the debt. This is when the guys get into trouble. There is no way these guys could accumulate such huge cash and if they are not able to clear the debts, Harry’s men would take over Eddie’s dad’s bar, the character which is played by Sting.

So to get that huge amount of cash in order to save themselves from Hatchet Harry, they decide to rob a gang and the gang which turns out to be a savage, brutal and vicious looting and torturing other fellow businessmen. The businessmen of course includes drug dealer who have their own farm of marijuana in their apartment. In between the robbery, another vicious gang gets involved which is led by and afro named Rory. In the end, all the gang members are killed in the crossfire, the hitman who works for Hatchet gets away with a bag full of cash, the four of them also escape legal actions. The end is even funnier, when they all come to know the price of a pair of antique shot guns which Soap, Bacon and Eddie asks Tom to get rid of them by throwing them off of the bridge.

Weekdays Vs. Weekends, Pay Day Vs. Working Days

Thursday, June 24, 2010 0 comments

It’s Sunday again, the very next day after the weekend. Getting back to work, somewhat is a sordid experience. In an organization where there are very few public holidays, Saturday is the only day to relish all those week long tensions and pressures. The weekend simply flies by without offering any seconds to cherish. In the same way, this week however would end without being noticed. Sometimes, weeks are as long as months and astonishingly as short as a day. As the week ends at it’s quickest, so does the weekend.

It’s now Wednesday today. Two working days gone and two more days left for the weekend. A bit of sigh of relief at the midst of the week with just two more days until Saturday sets the mind at complete ease. Friday is the best day of the week as the following day happens to be a no duty day.

Four weeks and a couple of days pass by and it’s about time to receive payment for a laborious one full month of work. The ending of the month is always a nice one for it’s the time to get paid, and with some pocketful of money, the positive energies are all activated. The only day which is quite motivating and inspiring happens to be the pay day.
Hard work results in a payday and the circle moves round and round, the same procedure applies with laborious week and a pleasant weekend. All these circular movements are happening at the fastest pace and with a little joy of pay day or a weekend, the shortening of life remains ignored. There are so many things undone, yet the adjustments and compromises always come into effect along the hectic schedules. Looking at the Mayan calendar, different speculations have been made though the third quarter of the population of the earth believe it as a hoax, but this possibility of Armageddon should somehow aid people to set a specific timeframe in order to continue balancing the payday and work day with weekdays and weekends.

Schools In My Country

Thursday, June 17, 2010 0 comments

My country Nepal is a south Asian country. It is a developing third world country. Nepal has gone through regime of several dynasties and so has its educational system. History of proper educational system is not very long in Nepal. As a result there are still many weakness and pitfalls in educational systems in Nepal.

The first school of Nepal was established in 1853 and the pupils were handful royal family and Rana family. It took decades for common Nepal citizens to have access to education. Still the literacy rate is said to be below 50% and in that too female literacy is way too low.

The educational system is always interfered and politicized. The government has not been able to provide basic infrastructure for decent education to public. Government schools are usually noted for poor funding and staffing. The academic results are usually poor in comparison to the private school and colleges. The extracurricular activities are out of question in most of the government schools and even in private ones.

The present concept in Nepalese student is that if you want to get quality education then get admitted in private schools and colleges. The problem is that almost all private schools and colleges are expensive and not all commoners can afford it, moreover in private colleges and universities it can be very difficult to get enrolled if you want to apply for professional courses like medical and engineering etc.

Nepalese academic Curriculum is sometimes criticized for its impracticalness. Students basically learn only theories. Even I passed my secondary schools mugging and cramming theories and without ever getting in the laboratories. Now that I have seen colleges of my country and college of this country I feel very sad and pathetic towards the young students of my country.

Apart from that the courses are orthodox and not modernized in time. Books are not published in time and even exams are not held in scheduled times due to political instability. Some missionary schools like Buddhanilkantha, St. Xaviers, St. Marys have set standards for other schools.

The Zahir by Paulo Coelho

Thursday, June 10, 2010 0 comments

The most popular book by Paulo Coelho in my knowledge should be “The Alchemist”. I haven’t gone through it but the one I found myself indulging is called “The Zahir”. The book is all about love and the ups and downs in a relationship. In between the ups and downs of one’s personal life, there are many other petty incidences which eventually happen to be very much responsible or the key to the destiny in precise.

The story takes off in Paris and later lands on the steppes of Kazakhstan in the final stage. The wife of the narrator in the story, the author of “A time to rend and a time to sew” leaves home without any information and vanishes leaving no traces behind.

The renowned author of the book “A time to rend and a time to sew” gets his wife Esther missing mysteriously leaving no traces behind. His wife a war correspondent is feared to have been captivated by terrorists or she might have been bored with their marriage or she might have been possibly blackmailed, all these fears, anxiety, curiosity have been beautifully laid in words. When his wife disappears, the author then tags her as “The Zahir” of his life. The only way to get to his wife is through Mikhail who happens to be a very close associate of Esther. In the beginning, Mikhail is a total detest but in due course of time, the hatred then slowly turns into respect and eventually into love. The author then is forced to travel to Kazakhstan in search of his wife whom he loves very much and the fact which he realizes after her disappearance.

From “The Zahir” this particular paragraph or the message is the “No one should ever ask themselves that :why am I unhappy? The question carries within it the virus that will destroy everything. If we ask that question it means we want to find out what makes us happy. If what makes us happy is different from what we have now, then we must either change once and for all or stay as we are, feeling even more unhappy” and it is the real message to the people who have all the privileges one could get but are unhappy with their life.

Buying precious metals at this time would be a very wise decision. The price of gold has broken all previous records and it is still sky rocketing. If any investors don’t have sufficient capital to invest upon gold, there’s always an option to buy silver bullion which yields a good return. To buy silver bullion, United States Gold Bureau is the ultimate name in this business. Silver can be bought both in bullion and or in the form of ingots.

Why does investment upon silver could be referred to one of the best investment? It’s because, the demand for silver is way too above the annual production. This trend has been in existence since the year 1990 and this is why, investing on silver is very fruitful. This is why with lesser cash when compared to gold, the wisest decision to have a profitable investment is to buy silver. Heaven

Tuesday, June 1, 2010 0 comments

There may be so many moments in which one can find enormous joy but those moments pass by without being noticed. In my case, I just discovered the state of my mind when I almost reach heaven where I am surrounded by clouds, clear blue sky, old aged males with white beard and dressed in white gown, a bit younger female counterparts who have never forgotten to put that lovely smile on their face, the crown made up of natural twigs and leaves on their head and they too dressed in white, white horses with extended wings flying all around.

The exact time I reach this state is when I get sleepy and music being played along. The genre however doesn’t play a very significant role as I have have gotten me into this beautiful state listening from Gorgoroth to Celine Dion. Just on the brink when my full consciousness collapses into the sleep, I feel I’ve some other sense which supervises all these moments and conflicts as well. At this very time, I feel myself free from everything and into the world which is all built of my fantasy. At this time I decide what to dream of and most of the times; my dream is led by my intuition and thus I dream what I want to.

The other thing that I just realized is that, smile is the most beautiful possession one can have. Had not the females in the white, crowned with natural twigs and leaves put a smile on their face, my heaven would have become a normal place when I and we live today. Therefore a smile brings a smile and I’ve been thinking of a person who’s got the sweetest smile in the whole world, the imaginative smile I see in her face has already brought smile on my lips. She’s got a great smile, even the prison officer in the movie “Lock Up” doesn’t smile to the best as her,’ the one in my mind’ can.

I often visit heaven as it’s just a state of mind and to make my heaven complete, there’s always someone with that terrific lethal sweet smile.

Radha

Sunday, May 23, 2010 0 comments

Radha, as the name itself suggests, the book is an autobiographical novel written by Krishna Dharawasi. The story starts in a peaceful village called Braja with Princess Radha and her friend’s childhood fun. Krishna is one of the most frolicking, dynamic guys in the neighborhood with whom many girls are magnetized including Radha herself.

We normally think of romance when the names Radha and Krishna are jointly pronounced. This book also contains romance but there is more than just romance. The pain, trouble, sorrow, grief of the weaker sexes of a society has been portrayed very well. The pain a girl has to bear when her beloved moves to another city and even worse when she hears that her beloved marries some other girl, has been depicted in this novel. The war in the ancient times between Kauravas and the Pandavas is also combined in which the negative sides of the Pandavas violation in the war has been shockingly presented.

All in all it is a nice novel and the best part of this novel is that, the inner feelings, phases of sadness and happiness of women have been beautifully displayed by a male writer. It is indeed fun to go through this book.

Eco Foil Insulation

Thursday, May 20, 2010 0 comments

A house should be a well built and in particular where the climate is not so favourable, the use of bubble insulation gets the best results. The name eco foil is quite popular among many house owners, designers and builders. It is basically a provider which provides foil insulation which helps prevent heat into a house and likewise preserve the inner heat from going out. Eco foil specializes primarily in reflective insulation and attic insulation to name a few and these are the most important bases of a good house. In winter these insulations prevent heat from flowing out of a house and thus keep the house warm inside. In the same manner, in the summer, the scorching heat is reflected from the attics and thus cools the house.

These kinds of insulation are very handy in all parts of the world. It does not only help to adjust the climate but the best thing about eco foil insulations is the cost effective factor. With low expense, a house with eco foil insulation is a welcome place to stay all round the year.

A Visit To Kakani

Tuesday, May 18, 2010 0 comments

The place Kakani is not so unfamiliar among people of Kathmandu. People often go to that place but it was my first time last Saturday. I did not have any plans of going there but one of my friends asked me if I would go with them. With lots of free time on my hands, I agreed and thus went with them without any prior settings of whatsoever. This place is situated at a high altitude just about twenty five to thirty kilometers to the north from the busiest Kathmandu.

As soon as we maneuvered to Kakani from the main road which leads to Trishuli, I felt a sudden rush of chill, excitement and joy. The fresh fragrance of firewood simply drove me crazy, trees along the either sides of the road, the hills, few people seen walking on the streets, it was a magnificent ride. The treble humming of cicada throughout the jungle, unseen but hearable screaming of kids in the woods, everything was heavenly as I rode up the steep hill with Samindra at the back. I was so busy indulging myself in the nature that my conversation grew lesser and lesser as we reached Kakani.

We then finally arrived at a resort and from that resort we could see a temple at the top of a hill a little farther away from where we were staying. In an instant I felt the urge to go to that top but no one was ready to accompany me because they all had different idea of having fun. They soon ordered snacks and local wine, it was me and Samindra who ordered ourselves a cup of warm tea. No one would leave their chair so I quietly sneaked out of the group and headed towards that top. I had something in my mind. I was thinking of sending a text message to the most important person of my life from that top. Eventually, I reached the top and did my task.

On returning from that top, I simply wandered over to other small hills, I could also see some people playing football and at some point I thought I too would join the game but I did not and simply watched them play.

After going to the top of the hill where a temple was situated, I re-joined the group. Most of them were already drunk, they danced to hindi tunes, took photographs, poked one another, hugged each other, laughed but I was the one sitting isolated thinking of someone else. That’s what I normally do when people around me are having fun and I can’t help myself.

Soon it was time for us to leave, a beautiful Saturday came to an end and it was time for all of us again to face the daily unwanted and undeserved routine in the valley.

Waiting For The Clock To Strike Six In The Evening

The nation is at chaos, there’s no need to worry about office and waking up early. So, at around nine in the morning, I sluggishly got out of my bed and went to my friend’s shop. There was thing bunch of so called cool guys and I got myself indulged in their conversation. Each and every words, gossips, chats were pleasant until suddenly, they started talking about booze. They talked about the previous day when they gathered and consumed some ten plus litres of booze and that day as well; they had a plan of some heavy drinking sessions. I was now left alone in this conversation. I hate getting drunk so I quietly walked out of the group and headed towards the other end of the street where I could meet some fellow guys from my neighbourhood.

The next group, they seemed cooler than the previous group. We talked about guys from our neighbourhood from the days long gone but all the talks finally narrowed down to drugs and abusive. I hate drugs and some guys were already rolling marijuana. They fired the stick, puffing clouds of smoke from their mouth and I was the one who could feel the intoxication. I then bid the guys farewell and headed home.

At home, I did nothing, watched a couple of movies, cleaned my room and took a short nap. The absence of my good friends was seriously felt. I had to make friends with those classes of people who are into activities that I dislike the most. Therefore, waiting for the clock to strike 6.00 pm was the only thing I had to do. Slowly but surely, seconds, minutes and hours passed and when it was six in the evening, it was my time for I could meet or write to the most special person of my life.
