I Think Too Much

There’s a big tree in the office premises under which I often go and seat beneath it. It’s pleasant to be there in pricking summer heat. The melody created when a soft breeze comes by is truly a moment of bliss. Though it’s not summer right now I went beneath it only to get disturbed by terrible chirping of birds. It was a beautiful cool dawn but the noise those birds made would be enough to break a wine glass I guess. It was the highest of all notes that could be heard in nature. I was thinking, if the tree was a classroom, because as soon as the teacher leaves the class the pupils would make noise or it might be a theatre where a play had just ended. It may also be a house of representatives where members are protesting over an issue. The most probable thing that the tree could be was a hospital where one is seriously injured and the others are panicking. Or there could have been a terrible fight between two groups. I was simply analyzing the situation from beneath the tree bearing that high pitched noise. At last it was too unbearable and I was warded off. New Year 2012

The world has witnessed enough of killings of people without any reasons. Innocents have been sacrificed for the sake of peace. What hurts the most is, people are killing people for the sake of happiness. If the hoax of the end of the world in 2012 could have been for real, it would be justifiable because, no human should mess with Mother Nature and there’s no preventing such natural catastrophe. If the world ever ended there would be no complain when it is caused by natural phenomenon. Dinosaurs became extinct but it was a nature’s call should we say. If humankind becomes extinct due to natural causes it would be regarded as a time cycle but if humans get themselves omitted from the universe just because of their own selfish motives of proving themselves the strongest then yes, there would be a very big complain and discontent. We may not be able to complain this to anyone if we were to be wiped out from the universe but then again humankind would be tagged with idiotism and stupidity.

New Year's Eve 2011

The New Year’s Eve is just around the corner. I have never celebrated such festivals but this time around, the urge to go out and have fun is terribly building up in me. Innumerable advertisements can be seen in all the leading newspapers about parties with different entrance rates and venues. Some of them seem to be very promising and suitable for me. I am not a disco and dancing kind of guy and one particular party is going to showcase an acoustic live set and that is what driving me crazy. I haven’t made any new friends for a long time now and I’m looking forward to meeting new people of my alike and hang around in the New Year’s Eve. However my lack of commercial partying experience could end me up in a dull situation but I think it’s now or never. I must attend at least one party on this New Year’s Eve.

Last Saturday I had a small informal talk with my neighbourhood buddies about going to Thamel to have a good time. All of them love to get drunk and which is why I’m in a slight confusion. I on the other hand don’t drink at all and getting into trouble because of my drunkard associates would be too intolerable for me. Thamel, undoubtedly is the most happening places in town and would have so much to offer on particular days like New Year’s Eve but then again I totally dislike crowds full of disorderly people. This is why I’m still in a dilemma, whether I should go out to Thamel or not on this New Year’s Eve.

It was an article printed in a newspaper which suggested several ways to celebrate the New Year’s Eve. It was of my interest and some of them were really fascinating ones. All the suggestions were enclosed by a simple rule of ‘drink responsibly’ which I need not worry about. I liked the idea of inviting few good friends at home and create a party atmosphere. There are in fact no friends at all who would love such parties and that’s why this particular suggestion gets totally ruined.

After going through all those advices and suggestions I got captivated by the one placed at the bottom. I think it was the right one for me. It said, ‘indulge yourself in writing’. Ah! That’s one hell of a suggestion and I’ll stick to it. I love to write and what more could I ask other than savouring the splendid New Year’s Eve on some creative writing.

Help Sometimes Is Not Help

Some several years ago in my village, I remember going to the woods with a toddler cousin to gather firewood for the first time. We collected a few and when we were about to leave for home I saw a branch of a tree lying in the bushes which had some wonderful mushrooms in it. I showed it to my cousin and she immediately went to pick it up. With mushrooms blooming at the sides of the twig impressed my little cousin and she said that we would not burn this and that she’d keep it for a long time in the garden. She tried to pick it up but it was almost her size and struggled to lift it up. I intercepted and picked it up but my cousin won’t let me carry it. She liked it so much and she wanted to carry it on her own. Finally she put it on her shoulder with some help of mine and we walked home.

The village asphalts are never comfortable and which is why my cousin slept off the track nearly injuring herself seriously several times. I tried to convince her that I’d carry it safe but she wouldn’t let me have it. She had a terrible liking towards it and she would happily carry it home in spite of all the difficulty and struggle. Though the twig wasn’t that heavy, I could still hear her panting and she struggled all the way. However she was in total joy and would not pay any attention to the kindness that I was showing. I only wanted to help her, watching her carrying that load on her shoulder was simply too much. But she was so excited to have such a wonderful and amazing colored twig in the back yards. The struggle I saw while ferrying that twig was truly obstinate but my cousin was more than happy with that struggle. Lastly we reached home and she laid that twig with a thud and rested.

I felt that I should have helped her carry that load but another thought was like, I should let her free and let her do what pleases her most. Had I carried that load, she would not have found it joyous because she liked to carry it all the way from the woods to home. I only tried to help her but my help would have surely ruined her joy.

Sometimes, a help can turn out to be something very unpleasant because there’s some bliss in struggling and or hard work.

Electric Bag To A Friend

Back in my college days we never carried loads of book and exercise books like we did in schools. Those days were fun and only a couple of exercise books would be more than sufficient to attend classes. Therefore in those times we would spend our money in other things rather than on bags. Bags however have a very big role in our daily lives which I’ve realized only a few years back. Now I believe professionals from different sectors do need bags and not just students.

A friend of mine who is an electric mechanic remains busy all day long. He carries electric luggage loaded with meters, transistor, chips, wires, screws and many other different instruments. He has to travel a lot in an out of the town but he never leaves his bag. I had seen him carrying a normal bag to carry his equipments but when his sector of work expanded, he ordered a special kind of electric bag from abroad. It looked good and rugged at the same time and on top of that it had fluffy belt and was waterproof. That new bag literally added personality in him as he looked sharp and elegant when he carried it sideways while straddled on his motorcycle.

I however on the other hand don’t need such electric bags while going to my office because I don’t belong to electronic field. But ferrying my laptop to and from the office is a must. I do have a normal backpack which contains my laptops and some notebooks with stationery while on the way to work. I still regard my small backpack as an electric bag because it contains my laptop and has separate pockets which fit my adaptors and chords just right. The bag in which I carry my laptop is not waterproof and that’s why I am burdened by woes during the monsoon.

Until now I had never noticed bags and it used to be a dispensable unit to me but my concept has changed during my tenure at this new office. Colleagues carry fancy and nice bags to carry their documents and other belongings and seeming them on a daily basis I think I’ve started to develop a kind of fetish for bags in me. I had recently gifted a bag to my friend but she did not like at all may be because it did not have many pockets and it was a rough hand knit. On next special occasion I’d gift her a bag which I’m sure would be liked by her.

And to my mechanic friend, I have planned to gift him an electric backpack as a souvenir on his wedding. His wedding is due next month and I guarantee he’ll cherish this particular bag for a long time because I’ve already chosen a big which fits all his tools and meets all his requirement.

Prank On Me

I was played a prank by my friend and they really got me. I don’t belong to the rowdy, bullying or hooligans group but had been involved in some rumbles but a long time back. One of my friends told me that, a guy from the neighbourhood had been looking for me and if he I had been in his sight he would bash me. The news however did not frighten me but it got to my nerves. I haven’t done anything wrong to anyone and why would some wannabe bullies try to threaten me behind my back. If he had the guts and if I had really done something annoying he should have come to me straight and settle the issue. I inquired my friend who it was but he did not tell me. I was really getting angry and I also asked him to tell me where he lived but he didn’t. Had he told me the location I would have gone to his house immediately and settle the score.

He then told me that he had the guy’s number, I told him to make a call and tell him that I’m right here; he could meet me right now. He then took out his cell and called. I could hear the voice from the other end but it was in no way familiar. I was wondering why someone would threaten me. After a small conversation my friend handed me his cell and told me to talk. The voice from the other end asked me my name and I did tell my name. Immediately after that, the stranger started abusing me verbally using all possible dirty words. I did not lose my cool and I was simply asking him what, where and when something had happened that made him so furious. In the end the voice from the other end told me to stay right there as he said he was coming right away. With this, I was quite happy that he was coming and if I was proved not guilty after all the explanations I would break his leg. I swear I had that in mind.

When we hung up my friend started laughing helplessly. Later I realized that the voice in the other end was a programmed one. I was thrilled, it really got me. Before the conversation in the phone, I had lost my cool and asked my friend to tell me who it was and I was really shouting at him in the harshest of ways. In the end it was fun.

Just then we thought of playing the same prank to one of the guys in our neighbourhood who is into making troubles and brawling. As soon as the programmed voice used that offensive derogatory, the victim named Kumar started swearing and shouting at him. There was an elderly lady outside the shop but Kumar lost his control and did not bother to notice anyone around. We laughed and laughed and laughed. It was one of the best pranks that I had ever been played and we made other two fellows fools. It was great. Well done my friend!

Me Vs. Myself

Every second that passes by causes irresistible pressure and on several occasions I thought that I’d quit. I was never the giving up kind but when all the energies and wills have emptied, there’s nothing left to support my continuation. Each and every step brings me some kind of barriers but no dead end and which is why I’m compelled to crawl forward. My goal is blurred and I’m confused if I’m on the right path. No one is to be blamed though, in my pursuit and opting for this particular path. The path seems to be leading to all four sides and this is me in the middle wondering which way to go.

I call myself an organized person but such organizations have crumpled into a heap of roubles. There had always been options and backups in my plans but the one which did not have any alternatives of whatsoever is in jeopardy. If that aftermath is to take place that would possibly be the dead end and no more endeavours needed to propel my life forward. That would be the last day and no more failures would occur anymore in my life.

I’m a human and have several weaknesses. I’ve made terrible blunders but I’ve always tried to minimize them to the best of my ability. Then again mistakes happen and have regularly happened. I play with my mind, I try to rationalize all my feelings and take part in some intense debates against myself and within myself. I’m not that of an optimistic man and pessimism always reigns in me most of the times. I have a lot to do in life but lacks motivation.

I’m helpless, fighting a battle with myself and crawling forward to a destination that I had never planned.
